A German retail chain wanted to comply with covid safety and security measures 24/7. That meant detecting people without face masks, continuously monitoring store capacity and alerting when the capacity is over the allowed threshold.
We customized our Macula, a video-analytics platform. Macula is a ready-to-use AI-powered real-time safety and security video analytics solution covering a wide range of scenarios and measurements of business performance.
Macula runs on-premise and fully offline. The video stream is processed in real-time. No information about the customers, pictures, or videos is stored during the computation. Therefore, Macula is compliant with GDPR and other data protection regulations enforced in Europe and the rest of the world.
At client’s retail stores, Macula detects customers correctly wearing face masks and continuously monitors store capacity. The platform alerts the staff when capacity exceeds the permitted threshold. Thanks to Macula, the store could replace security staff at the entrance and save 2,500 – 4,000 EUR per store location per month.
