Seznam, a leading Czech media company recognized for its technological innovation, set out to automate the repetitive tasks involved in turning content into radio broadcasts. This would allow human staff to focus on creating high-quality content, rather than repurposing it.

To test this, the project aimed to develop automated night radio broadcasts while exploring personalization opportunities, such as tailoring newscasts for specific regions.

To tackle this challenge, Seznam implemented a cutting-edge AI system developed by us, built around specialized AI agents. Each AI agent focuses on a specific part of the broadcast creation process, working collaboratively to deliver a seamless radio experience. Here’s how it works:

AI Agent #1 – Radio Broadcast Producer (Dramaturg)

This complex system automates the full night program in minutes. Starting with a general broadcast framework (e.g., news at 3:00 AM, traffic updates at 3:30 AM), it:

• Generates a time-optimized playlist of host entries.
• Selects and organizes news articles from Seznam News.
• Curates music playlists that fit time slots and mood.
• Schedules all elements for seamless execution.
• Decides to localize the host’s entries.

AI Agent #2 – Radio Host & Script Writer – Hacsiko

Powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), this agent writes engaging scripts tailored to the content, tone, and structure of the program. All it needs are inputs such as:

• Current news, weather, and context (e.g., preceding or upcoming segments).
• Desired tone and sentiment (e.g., cheerful, serious, or neutral).
• Strict guidelines (e.g., avoiding specific terms or language).

This prepared script can then be transformed by a text-to-speech model trained on the voice of a real Seznam radio presenter.
